LOS ANGELES— The PABA Foundation’s Inaugural “Summer Affair” will be held on June 4, 2010, at the
Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm. The Summer
Affair is primarily an after-hours ticketed social event intended to increase awareness of the
Foundation’s mission and drive community involvement in Foundation activities for 2010. Each
ticket includes unlimited wine bar, a sampling of Filipino “gourmet hors d’oeuvres”, a live string
quartet, and an incredible karaoke throwdown. Members of the Asian American legal
community, local businesses will also be present.
We would like to invite you and your colleagues to join us in this landmark event. A lot of folks
say this event is way too small to get any attention: we beg to disagree. I hope you will help us
prove them wrong. We are a small Foundation with a very important mission – to encourage the
next generation to pursue careers that represent the legal interests of their communities and
support nonprofits that do.
Sales proceeds generated from the Summer Affair will be used to fund 2010 community
fellowships and scholarships for legal students and to aid local nonprofit organizations. Previous
recipients of the PABA Foundation awards will be honored including the Manny Pacquiao
Foundation. We will also place for live auction the following items to benefit the Manny
Pacquiao Community Legal Scholarship Fund:
- Manny Pacquiao signed gloves;
- Artwork donated by Rev. Carl Roberts showing Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya; and
- Other items donated by local businesses and entrepreneurs.
We would be very honored to have you as our guest for this inaugural event.
Maraming Salamat!
